Profession-specific language courses

A German language course for professional use focuses on deepening your language skills so you can communicate professionally in a work environment. Here are the main contents of such a course:

A2-B1/B2 Level (Profession-Specific)

The main focus is on professional communication, including job interviews. We learn to make and answer phone calls, participate in meetings and discussions, give presentations, and write business letters and emails. We also learn specialized vocabulary, industry-specific terminology, technical terms and expressions, and business language and etiquette.

Grammatically, we deepen our knowledge of the Konjunktiv I and II (for reported speech and hypotheses), passive forms in various tenses, nominalization, compound words, and complex sentence structures (relative clauses, infinitive clauses, and participial constructions). We read technical literature, reports, protocols, and studies, and analyze diagrams and statistics.

Written communication, inter-cultural skills and project management

In written communication, we create reports, protocols, and analyses. We write offers, place orders, or file complaints. We also formulate documentation for projects and concepts.

We train our intercultural skills, such as understanding cultural differences in the German business world, negotiation techniques and strategies, cross-language communication, and conflict management.

We also learn how to plan and execute projects, and we discuss teamwork, role distribution, time management, and resource planning in the workplace. We cover basic legal terms (labor law, contract law), data protection, and compliance.

Practical exercises include role-playing and simulations of typical professional situations, providing feedback, and self-reflection on authentic materials (business reports, emails, phone notes).

A professional course is designed to prepare you for the real demands of professional life and provide the necessary language skills to succeed in a German-speaking work environment.
